# About Kachi

Kachi (/KAH-chee/) is an AI agent that works across a circle of friends, over text
messages. You tell it what should happen; it talks to the people involved and comes
back to you. No app and no account -- you text it, the way you text anyone else.

while the product is early.

## What it actually does

Most things between friends fail on logistics, not on feeling. Four people want to
see each other and nobody wants to run the group chat. You meant to ask how the
interview went and remembered three weeks late. Kachi is built for that gap: you give
it a goal in Messages, it does the back-and-forth with the people involved, and it
reports back when there's something to report.

Three kinds of ask cover most of it:

- **Make a plan.** "cinema with Nora and Theo this week. find a time and something
  we'd all watch." It asks them, finds the overlap, and comes back with a night and
  a film.
- **Ask around.** "find out what Nora and Theo really think of my haircut. don't say
  it's me asking." It asks, and tells you what they said.
- **Remember.** "remind me in a week to ask Theo how his interview went." A week
  later, it nudges you at a moment when texting him makes sense.

## How it works

You talk to Kachi privately, and your friends never see your conversation. To do its
job it shares small, relevant things with the people in your circle -- what serves the
plan, not your words. That sharing is the product rather than a setting, which is why
it is spelled out plainly in the privacy policy before you ever text it.

It only messages people who started a conversation with it themselves, by texting it
or by accepting an invite. It does not text your contacts. Reply STOP at any time and
it stops.

## Who makes it

Kachi is built and operated by Layers Labs Inc, a company in the United States. The
service is intended for people in the US, and for people 18 and older.

## An early product

Kachi is new. It will misread things and make imperfect judgment calls, and it says so
in the terms. It is not a substitute for professional advice or for emergency
services. What happens between you and your friends is yours; Kachi does the
coordination, not the friendship.

## What it costs

Nothing, for now. Kachi is free while it is early. If that changes, the agent tells
you before it takes effect.
